Rehearsal Updates for this December's Green Mountain Nutcracker

Green Mountain Nutcracker snow dancers

Happy thanksgiving, all!

We finished setting the choreography for the Snow dance on Sunday and a hint of snow flakes fell on the way home from rehearsal. Returning to this piece after a two year hiatus has revealed its genius to me. If you have ever seen a traditional Nutcracker the Snow dance is usually a ballet piece with dancers lightly springing about with sometimes redundant steps in very structured formations onstage...this is not the Green Mountain Nutcracker's Snow dance. This piece mimics nature's patterns as well as the chaos with wild beauty. So grateful to return to the Barre Opera House with this one and to reunite with Willow Wonder, the conduit for this piece!

We look forward to seeing you all for performances at the Barre Opera House on December 17th and 18th!
